  2. 2

Turn sideways pages into readable pages

Scanned documents sometimes contain pages facing different directions. Rotating a PDF changes the orientation of its pages, so readers can view the document without turning their screen or tilting their head.

Choose an angle and the pages to turn

Choose 90° for a quarter-turn clockwise, 180° for a half-turn, or 270° for a three-quarter-turn clockwise. A 270° clockwise rotation is the same final orientation as a 90° counterclockwise turn.

Choose All pages for a document-wide correction, or Selected pages and a range for specific pages. Click Apply rotation to update the previews. Individual thumbnail rotations and bulk changes add together.

Common questions

What does clockwise rotation mean?

It follows the direction of a clock’s hands. At 90°, the top of the page turns to the right. At 180°, the page is upside down relative to its starting position.

Can I rotate just one page?

Yes. Click a thumbnail, then use the clockwise or counterclockwise button for a 90° turn. Ctrl/Cmd-click or Shift-click to select more pages. For another angle, choose Selected pages and click Apply rotation.

Does rotation change the page order?

No. Rotation changes the direction a page faces. Use Organize PDF if you also need to move pages into a different order.
